A school worth keeping
Pixie Hill Preschool has been part of Mercer Island since 1958. Nearly seven decades of children have taken their first steps into school life here — learned to share, made their first real friends, and left ready for kindergarten and everything beyond it. That kind of continuity doesn't happen by accident. It happens because this community keeps showing up for it.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Pixie Hill is governed by a volunteer parent board and sustained by a combination of tuition, grants, and the generosity of families and community members who believe that excellent early childhood education should exist on this island. Your support — at any level — directly protects that.
What your support makes possible
Donations to Pixie Hill fund the things that make our program exceptional: enrichment partnerships that bring music, science, and art specialists into the classroom; field trips and nature experiences beyond our walls; the garden, the sandbox, and the outdoor spaces where so much of our best learning happens; and the ability to pay our teachers competitively so that the people who know your children stay.
Join the board
Pixie Hill is governed by a volunteer parent board that oversees the school's finances, strategy, and long-term health. We are actively looking for board members with backgrounds in finance, operations, marketing, law, or nonprofit management. Board service is a meaningful way to shape the future of a school that has shaped so many Mercer Island families. If you're interested, please reach out directly to [director@pixiehillpreschool.com].
Volunteer
Our community events, fundraisers, and day-to-day operations run on the energy of volunteers. From helping at the Spring Art Show to coaching t-ball to lending a skill the school needs — there are many ways to be involved. Reach out and tell us what you'd like to do.
Community Partners
Pixie Hill is a proud member of the Mercer Island community, partnering with local organizations that share our commitment to children and families.
