Growing Together in a Close-Knit Community

Our community is fundamental to our approach in nurturing every aspect of child development. We believe that family involvement enriches our learning environment and strengthens the bond within our Pixie Hill family.

Here are some ways we encourage community and bring everyone together:

Meet Your Teacher: Kick-start the year in early September with our warm and welcoming event to help relieve any start-of-school jitters and make new friends.

Pixie Pumpkin Party: October brings families together for crafts and games in costumes to create fall season memories full of laughter and fun.

Friendship Feast: In November our students prepare and share a feast, experiencing the joy of cooking and the value of sharing with friends.

Winter Sing-Along: December’s performance is a highlight and brings families together in a musical celebration of the season.

Family Morning: A special time for families to join in and collaborate on a STEAM project in the classroom, strengthening bonds and building memories together .

Celebrating Birthdays: Bring your child’s favorite treat to school to share in a birthday party with their Pixie friends. We’ll read a special birthday story and sing.

Pixie Playdates: Occasional weekend gatherings offer a relaxed and fun way for the whole school to connect and play outside in our large playground, offering ample space for kids to run and play while families mingle.

Spring Art Show: This event proudly displays our children’s artistic achievements and is a fun opportunity to show off creations they’ve been working on at Pixie.

T-Ball Team: Each spring, with the help of volunteer parent coaches, we assemble an optional t-ball team as a part of Mercer Island Little League.

Moving-Up and Graduation Ceremonies: We honor the journey of our Tadpoles completing their first year of preschool and celebrate the achievements of our Frogs as we warmly send them off to their next big adventure—Kindergarten!
